Personal Development

Governing Body Membership

Being a member of a Governing Body allows you to access their coaching awards, publications and discussion groups. Many associations offer student rates of membership, the course team will discuss the advantages of joining particular governing bodies as the course progresses.

Throughout the course there will be opportunities to undertake a variety of governing body awards. This will take place either through the modules where the material covered is commensurate with the governing body award.

Awards that run additional to the taught modules will appear in the ‘Governing Body Award Booklet' that is circulated in September by the University's Sports Development Officer, these are offered at a price substantially less than you would find outside of University.

PE Students

Personal Development

As a student teacher, professional demands and expectations of you will be evident throughout your time at Chichester both as students and in the work place. You will have high contact hours compared to other degree programmes and be expected to participate in clubs, teams, and additional courses to gain further personal knowledge and expertise in a range of practical sports.

Furthermore, you will be part of the university personal professional development programme where each student’s progress is monitored and targets set each semester with an academic advisor. The university is based on two friendly small campuses where students quickly feel at home and part of the community both within the university and  the local towns of Bognor Regis and Chichester.
